From Our House to Your Table: A Snapshot of Our History

We recently dusted off this framed clipping from the Bangkok Post, dated December 29, 2007. While the paper has yellowed a bit, it contains a detail that defines the standard we have held since establishing our factory in the 1980s:

"The tableware used during the celebration of His Majesty the King's 60th birthday was made by KesKaew."

The article, titled "From House to Table," profiled our founders, Somboon and Kanchana Soonsawad. It told the story of how our family business—now operating for over 40 years—built a reputation strong enough to supply the Grand Palace, Thai Airways, Embassies, and high-end hotels without ever relying on loud advertising.

It worked because Khun Somboon wasn't just a businessman; he was a former Chief Steward at the Rama Hotel. He experienced firsthand how imported cutlery often couldn't handle the heat of a commercial kitchen. So, he built the solution himself: silverware designed with the durability required for professional use, yet elegant enough for royalty.

This dedication to "Thai craftsmanship at its best" is what allowed us to grow a truly diverse customer base. From national airlines to private dining rooms, our clients came to us because the product worked, not because of a marketing campaign.

Nearly two decades after this article ran, we’re proud that our approach hasn't changed. We still believe that if you make something truly exceptional, the work speaks for itself.

Sonboon and Kanchana Soonsawad, founders of KesKaew Development.
